No guessing what game gets game of the Round this week?! It’s a 2nd v 1st in an absolute cracker of a contest. There’s only 2 teams left that have won 3 from 3 & they’ll be only 1 left by 5pm Saturday afternoon. More of this top of the table fixture below.
Heading into R4 we’re now down to just 20 players from 181 still running 100% win ratio & with the top 2 playing each other I’d expect this to be nearly half that number or close to a bakers dozen by R5 but who knows?
We see marginally change at the Top of the ‘mini kudo’s’ ladder so congrats to Ward/Denny/Sarich/Bucowski for their great performances to date that’s surely has helped Wanneroo sit where they’re sitting on the ladder. Chasing hard, only 3 behind is Petchell/Harvey/Mitchell/McSherry after last week's big win with +38shots, so congrats to that rink on a great start.
PS. Congrats to the South Perth bowlers, especially in this division who represented their club & State magnificently during the recent National BPL finals at Pines and were a joy to watch & represented the game with fine sportsmanship.

The Saints were just brilliant again on the road last week & surely they’ll refocus & look to lock down the home ground advantage to bump them up into the Top 4. Ossie Park do make 2 changes after giving it a few weeks but that’s solely on the Dewson rink to look to strengthen that up after being the only loss last week & running 0-3 to start the season.
Basso will need to pick themselves up after the Sorrento toweling but they have lost to the Top 2 teams in 3 rounds so there’s definitely some highlights to take from those performances. Another 3 changes to personal with Stokes dropping down to bring some established firepower to the backend through Erceg as A.Smith & co shuffle down to make room.
Tough game here for both sides, I won’t be surprised to see the Lion awoken to register a big away win but it’s the Saints by a small margin as they’re finishing games well & settling as a side.

What a game we have in store for R4 & if there’s ANYONE who could please send us a little report on the game it would be greatly appreciated info@bowls360.com.au & it’ll find its way to Mystic Jack.
There’s only 0.5pt between these good sides as they have both taken apart everything that was put in front of them so far. There is bags of talent on both sides & the River Rats are running on a high at the moment & playing with such confidence. They’ll probably need it as I think this just may be a step too far for them at the moment. Not to discount their chances as they have a great chance of beating Sorrento but I’m finding it hard to get past Sorrento for the following reasons:
1. Superb balanced side;
2. 3 dangerous skippers where Rossmoyne probably only have the 2 & without the better front end support;
3. Sorrento won 2 away & 1 home, whereas Rossmoyne had 2 home & 1 away in their wins so far;
4. Rossmoyne played (possibly) the bottom 3 teams & Sorrento played top teams (obviously that’s an assumption on final standings but you get my drift);
Rossmoyne are playing brilliantly, there’s no getting past that but they’re quite dependant on 2 skippers, Gollan & Petchell. Not just as rink winners but those skippers tend to be saving 10-15 shots per game, which is outstanding high pressure bowls but they can’t do it game on game forever. The wish list matchup would have to be Petchell v Lander as I can't see either outside the top 5 on the skippers list at the end of the season.
Overall I think it’ll be a cracking game & I’ll be delighted for Rats if they get up as it’s a wonderful story to see them back chasing for PL but Sorrento have that hardened season of tough games last year & look determined.
If Sorrento take this they’ll be hard to catch as they’ll probably see little trouble up to R8, so huge game for all involved. Good luck to both teams.

Warwick probably wouldn’t of minded if they played this one last Sunday to get that Wanneroo defeat off their chest but the wait should be worth it as I’d imagine they’ll come out swinging from the start. Newstead comes back in & that’s really the only change. To Warwicks credit they are not ones to generally make massive changes & that shows in their balanced performances.
The Roosters need to start well or this one will drift away & they’ll be scratching around looking for a late point after the Agg has disappeared. After this Round Cockburn have 3 of the next 4 at home which should help enormously so anything here will surely set themselves up very nicely going into the half time break. TePania & Ravlich are the only 2 on 2 wins from 3 and the rest are either on 1 win or 0.5 so they'll need a collective lift across the board this weekend to trouble Warwick.
Other than Sorrento they haven't lost by much so no doubt they are close to the mark but probably side with Warwick on this on given they only lost 2 home games all last year & those were against Mossies & the Beach who are both PL now.

Unsure if there’s a bad case of nits over at Kardinya after the first 3 rounds but there’s a serious amount of head scratching going on....across both their top sides?! The talent is there, the big names are there & on paper it looks very solid but the results are slow to show. They are not far behind so tightening up on those loose rinks will surely reap rewards this week.
On form it’s pretty easy as it’s Roo’s all the way but it’s just such a hard sell convincing any Kat that they’ll lose 2 in row at home so early in the season. However, if Wanneroo want to head to the big dance next year they’ll need to win these type of games. Slight concern with the 3 changes, especially with Turra missing on a tricky away surface like Kardinya. I believe the Roo's were the only side to name an unchanged 16 over the first 3 Rounds so hopefully the 3 changes will be seamless.
No real reason to tip Kats other than they have gone through 20 players so far over the 3 Rounds, which no other club has used more so surely they are close to fixing their issues.

The clash of the cellar dwellers will be huge this weekend with both sides desperately eager to get a win on the board. Just like the top 2 teams these are in a similar position as the only 2 teams not to register a win yet but again that’ll be back to only 1 of these sides by 5pm as the other takes a huge step above them, especially if either side picks up a 7 or 8.
Hard game to call but it might be an advantage Morley after that bitter defeat last week. Who loses a game after scoring 95 shots?!!! Incredibly unlucky but that’ll still give them a lot of confidence knowing that scoring like that will win them most games for the rest of the year.
South Perth also need something from this as they can’t go 0-4 & expect to stay out of the bottom 4. 1 White can be tough to survive as both 1 Blue North & South teams need to find space in here somewhere. The Millers finish their 2 games on the road & would take this one rather than somewhere like Sorrento but that’s next weeks problem for them. The shining light for Millers has to be the rink pickups?! They’ve the same as 5th place Osborne Park (5 Rinks) which shows they’re getting close but just need to control those final 1 or 2 rinks to stem the blow outs. Fast grass away mightn’t be their preference but neither will free falling into 1 Blue so it’s time for the big names to step up.
Millers ring in more changes with Anderson/Calvo swapping back after last week, Cunningham back in but Santostefano drops down. You would think they might need the experience this week considering he skippered very well last year winning 4 of 5 games early in the season & can play on the big stage.
Morley marginally get the nod on the home track but I wouldn’t be surprised if South Perth just nips them late.
