Victoria Park Carlisle 95 (7) vs Forrestfield 58 (1)
(David Florance 22 - Rhys Tillemans 13) (Michael Adams 21 - Brian Barnfield 15) (Graeme Wishart 33 - George Tibbles 10) (Gary Beckwith 19 - Jarad Weppner 20)
The Reds courtesy of a big win by Rooster and his rink of Archell, Johnson and steady third Pat Keefe, were able to beat the visiting Forrestfield outfit by 37 shots. Rooster beat Georgie Tibbles by a massive 23 shots. I predicted that Rooster would soon have a big one, and he did. Back to his best?
The visiting sixteen showed some grit and determination, but in the end, the Reds prevailed handsomely. Wins to Florance over Tillemans and Adams over Barnfield completed the rout. Florance and his rink still unbeaten so far this year. Barnfield’s rink fought hard and closed the gap towards the end.
Kardinya 110 (7) vs Safety Bay 69 (1)
(Anthony Cocodis 25 - Peter Burgess 19) (Ian Barrie 26 - Scott Foran 20) (John Rochford 19 - Robert Stanley 22) (Graeme Fewings 40 - Scott Gallon 8)
The Kats back at the Kattery this week, were far too strong for Safety Bay, winning by a massive 41 shots and picking up 7 points, to put in the bank. The Bay boys will need to work out how to win away from home, or they will face certain demotion. The really big winner for the Kats, was the rink of Smith, Larard, Stephen Vinci and Fewing, they thrashed the Gallon rink by a massive 32 shots, wow, that hurt, said the Bay outfit. Barrie and Cocodis were the other winners for the Kats. Rob Stanley, with his brilliant third in Luke Piper, was the only winner for the visitors. Safety Bay now occupy last spot on the ladder, they just don’t appear to be able to play away from home.

(Wayne Heldt 26 - Michael McRae 8) (Murray Piggott 18 - Steve Kelly 17) (Michael Carey 20 - John Carter SP 25) (Graham OBrien 10 - Neale Griffin 21)
Match of the Day Skip Wayne Heldt, Johnny Andrews, Stephen Lambert and great young lead in Jason Titheredge were the heroes for the Eagles on Saturday at Manning. They walloped the evergreen Mick McRae and his rink by some 16 shots. This win proved to be the difference in a seesawing contest, played in great conditions and in good spirit. The Millers have lost their unbeaten record, but showed plenty of grit, to only lose the aggregate by 3 shots. Piggott pipped Kelly by just 1 shot, to be the only other winner for the winning Eagles outfit. “ Smiling “ Neale Griffin beat Obrien by 11 shots, to give the visitors a chance, but unfortunately the Millers fell just short in a contest that proved to be a good advertisement for bowls. Carter beat Carey by 5, to be the other winner for the Millers.
Well done to all participants.

Peter Holmes was the other winner for the Mariners, accounting for the strong Butler rink by 5 shots. Standley pipping Smith by 3 shots, for the Hawks. Jeff Hall lost his unbeaten status, when he succumbed to Tony Maxwell by 7 shots, in a surprise result. The Mariners proved me wrong, well done.
