Whilst round 9 through up a couple of surprise results, there wasn’t a lot of changes in ladder positions, however there has been some tightening up in the points which sees the ladder quite condensed.
This makes this weekend’s round of fixtures important and interesting for a few sides as we see 2nd v 3rd, 4th v 5th and 8th v 7th. Results of these games could go a long way to to determining who moves forward and set themselves up for a finals push.

D Nicholls, A Elmer, A Walton, F Tyson
R Butler, P Knight, P Flack, M Burton
B Eagles, M Hulbert, P Morgan, G Taylor INS: G Taylor OUTS: S Mortimer
Another cracking game here as third place Doubleview host second place Sorrento.
Both teams coming off losses last week, will be hoping to bounce back this week and get back to their winning ways.
For Doubleview, losing at home has to hurt and will no doubt disappointed, will no doubt come out firing and look to put Sorrento away early, whilst for Sorrento they too likewise will look to maintain the position in the four and bounce back with a win.
Both sides are playing well and with Doubleview at home and looking to avenge their home loss last week I think they will get the win and maintain and get back to that second spot.
SOUTH PERTH v SAFETY BAY

R Hall, B McVicar, G Hodges, J Hanafee
C Carruthers, S Hide, G Ogg, S Foran
G Smith, G Taylor, J Thorington, L Piper INS: G Ogg OUTS: G Wilkes
Both teams coming off losses, albeit close ones with Safety Bay so close to that all important first win, while for South Perth another agonising loss away, although 2.5 points.
Safety Bay it seems have been getting close to that first win and will no doubt be encouraged that they appear to be heading in the right direction. Although they seem destined to return to 1 White next season, I am sure they will want to cause as much damage as they can in the second half of the season.
For South Perth the up and down season continues. For the pre-season favourites they just can’t seem to find any consistency and I am sure they will be looking to find just that as they try to keep in touch with the top 4.
They have quality throughout the 16 and will no doubt give it everything they have got to get on that winning streak.
South Perth at home this week will be too strong for an improving Safety Bay
South Perth 7-1
KARDINYA v CAMBRIDGE

D Radford, C Stokes, S Vinci, M Holt
D Rankin, D Comrie, J Rochford, S West INS: T Leahy OUTS: L Philips
C Adams, R Bolton, N Bolton, P Potts
B Nairn, D Opie, C Wooldridge, D Leeson
E Johannes, S Rushforth, L Bolton, A Garlick
C Harris, S Mawdsley, N Lewis, A Foster INS: No charges OUTS:
Kardinya grabbed an all-important win last week and will be looking to do the same this week against ladder leaders at home again this week.
Cambridge taking all before them and continued on their winning way with an impressive defeat of Doubleview last week and will have no fears playing at Kardinya as they are similar surfaces.
Kardinya will be encouraged by last week’s performance and will need to keep that form and keep winning as they are in that precarious 9th spot and I am sure they will do all they can to avoid demotion.
However, Cambridge are on top for a reason and I think they will get the big end of the points this week and keep their momentum going.
OSBORNE PARK v MOSMAN PARK
S Loftus, C Biddle, A Pasalich, I Lilburne
C Packer, J East, R Lawrence, M Rollings
N Stevens, T Weir, M Dewson, S Pasalich
R Brown, K Pickering, E Martin, G King INS: No changes OUTS:
M Cranswick, J Barry, J Adams, A Gryta
C Hoffman, T Southern, M Robertson, A Daley
D Marsland, T Massang, S Swanson, W Tan
A Southern, T Cranswick, S Anning, M Van Bemmel INS: No changes OUTS:
A game with large ramifications for both the winner and loser as the winner could separate themselves somewhat from the bottom 2 whilst the loser of this one remains in the mix for one of those bottom 2 spots.
Osborne Park showing some goof form with an important win last week will want to keep that momentum and get closer th that final 4 spot.
Mosman Park will put last week behind them and move on and attempt to get back into their winning ways as they 2 are on the cusp of finals and demotion.
Mosman Park will play well and come out firing however I think Osborne Park at home for me in this one
Osborne Park 6-2
NORTH BEACH v MANNING
M Sweeney, M Sear, G Crosthwaite, G Yabuka
M Douthie, P Walker, M McConnell, L Mola
C Margin, G Devenish, R Aitken, J Clayton
J McGinlay, B Gillingham, S Richards, J Carlsen INS: J Carlsen OUTS: J Post
S Knott, W Hyatt, A Heal, M Ellis
B Butler, N Jones, S Withers, J Angel
D Trewhella, D Downey, P Ker, M Walker
T Mitchell, L Grigg, B Hogg, S O'Brien INS: S Knott, S Withers OUTS: A Lill, S Patterson
Huge game here for both sides as a win for North Beach could potentially place them in the four, while a win for Manning will open up a little gap between them and the chasing pack.
North Beach coming off a huge home win last week, haven’t looked back since they made some changes in their 16 and have now won 3 on the trot. Playing again at home this week they will no doubt be confident that they can make it 4 in A row.
For Manning a close win at home last week sees them maintain their spot in the four and they will have to continue that winning form if they are to maintain their position. They too have been a little up and down of late and will look to start the second half off with a bang and make a statement away against a rampant North Beach.
For me this game could go either way, we have North Beach at home and in good form against a Manning side that no doubt has the star power to come away with the win.
However North Beach at home and in form will just manage to get over the line.
