Round 11 kicks off on Saturday, with the standout game between the Manning Eagles versus their near and fierce rivals, the South Perth Millers. Only 2 points seperate these two teams on the ladder, so it could be a season defining fixture, win or lose. All other games look interesting and “/predictable “, but this sure has been a season of upsets and surprises, as you just don’t know what might happen, week to week.
The Roosters sit comfortably on top of the ladder, but there is a big log jam of teams behind them, all battling for those other two final spots.
Skip Tony Krajancic from Fremantle is the standout performer in the competition at this stage of the year, having lost only one game. He is obviously getting a lot of help from his promising young lead Josh Trigwell, former Bulldogs legend Brian Ciccotosto and the very accomplished Dinko Golem as his third.

2nd versus 4th in this classic encounter to be played on the smooth, fast grass at Manning. The surface just may be the difference here, with the Eagles still smarting from their one shot loss last week. Denis Bandy back again this week, a good in for the Millers. There are a lot of very good players scattered across both sixteens, so this game should be a cracker for sure. I can’t make up my mind as to who will win, so I will punt on the home side, but just.
Manning 6-2

LEEMING v FREMANTLE

S McCormack, M Lindsay, B Sumich, B Wright
P Wachmer, M Gill, K Bowden, N Gaspar
INS: No changes
OUTS:

If the visiting Mariners lose this one, they just may get the jitters, which will not auger well for the balance of the season. The hungry Lions are just four points behind the Mariners, with both teams still searching for winning combinations. A subtle change at Fremantle just might prove successful, we will know at about 6pm on Saturday. Both sides lost last week with the Lions really getting touched up by the Roosters. But at home, they can be a different outfit. Realistically though if the Krajancic rink are held to a reasonable score, then the Mariners will lose.
Leeming 7-1

Will the home side obtain their second win of the season? I reckon they just might in this game. The Rams were certainly demolished last week at home, whilst the home side have been competitive in most of their encounters. I notice Mal Peters is out for the Rams, a big loss indeed.
Spearwood have stuck with the same players again basically, this may just prove fruitful on Saturday.
Spearwood 6-2

OUTS:

Both of these sides had big wins last week, with the Ravens very impressive down at Rockingham. The visiting Roosters outfit, have had the same unchanged sixteen most weeks now, and this has proved to be a winner for the Cockburn boys. The Ravens, even though they were big away winners last week, have shuffled a couple of skips and thirds around, surprising. But maybe this is a planned move, who knows.
I will go for an upset here.
Thornlie 6-2

HILTON PARK v KALAMUNDA

HILTON PARK

H McKay, C McMahon, G Saint, S Farrell
INS: G Saint, Daniel Newton
OUTS: R Foy, S Ivory

KALAMUNDA
P Townsend, W Olive, H Clifford, M Thomas
B Brandsma, R Cooper, T Price, T Mountford
D Wooltorton, I Quayle, G McDonald, M Clancy
A Bartlett, R Pringle, B Farrant, V Hughes
INS: No changes
OUTS:

Probably the Hawks most telling player in Robbie Foy, is out this week, but his replacement in Daniel Newton is certainly no slouch. The Hawks with a great away win under their belt, will go into this encounter with a lot of confidence, and should win comfortably. The Cougars are a very happy and settled sixteen though, so you never know, they could cause an upset. But the trip down to the slower grass green at Hilton, might prove their undoing. Brandsma versus Simpson would be interesting.
Hilton 7-1
