"> As I mentioned on the RadioShow, I thought this round was the toughest to tip to date, with all 10 teams a chance of winning, and 4 of those games proving the case. Really surprised at the Doubleview win, Kardy need to find their mojo soon or the season is over.

WARNBRO 87 (2) v MOSMAN PARK 90 (6)
 Connor Biddle 25 v Cameron Hoffman  17
 Barry Kalinowsky 14 v Dale Marsland  28
 William Baker 18 v Patrick Daley  22
 Kieran Cousens 30 v Louie Beurteaux  23

This game went right to the wire, only decided on the 84th end. Starting the game Mosman Park were the first to get going and opened up a good lead but Warnbro steadily pegged them back, young Connor Biddle winning his first skippering game in the PL with a solid 8 shot win, and I think the Louie Beurteaux v Kieran Cousens was a game of 2 halves, with Beurteaux driving out early hard but Cousens coming home in the 2nd half to win his game by 7.
But Mosman Park were here to win a vital away game. Pat Daley was a close hard fought to win by 4 over Bill Baker but it was their big recruit Dale Marsland that got them the chocolates with his 14 shot win over Barry Kalinowsky. The game itself was decided on the last end of this game. With the aggregate all square and teammates crowded around, Marsland and his rink was able to pick up the shot required, actually they got 3 to win by that margin.
So a good win to Mosman Park at a venue that can be difficult to win at. This was the big chance for Warnbro to get the lions share of the points, I still believe they will win a game or two during the season, but it's hard to mount an argument for them to remain in the PL, even at this early stage.
DOUBLEVIEW 98 (8) v KARDINYA 60 (0)
 Charles Slavich 20 v Kevin McKay  19
 Kyle McIlroy 17 v Steven Novak  16
 Ryan Moyle 29 v Daniel Brown  16
 John Slavich 32 v David Rankin  9

A real shock result here, not so much Doubleview winning but all 8 points and a 38 shot aggregate is a shock. Kardinya have had a very disrupted start to the year and maybe this result will be enough for them to draw the line in the sand and put the past 4 games behind them, get a settled side together and start winning games as I know they can do. It is an impressive line up of talented players so wins will start to come soon.
But for this game the win came really from 2 rinks, Ryan Moyle with a good 13 shot win over Daniel Brown and John Slavich a 23 shot win over Dave Rankin. It is Rankins lowest "shots for" since a night game against Wanneroo in January 2013, so he has been a consistent performer over many many years and this is just a blip for the season I am sure.
Kardinya did have chances in the other 2 games but Doubleview held firm. Kyle McIlroy beating Steve Novak and Charlie Slavich over Kevin McKay, both by 1 shot. The way the results went on Saturday this good win to Doubleview lifts them to 2nd and only 1 point off top spot, Kardinya languishing in 9th spot but unlikely to stay there.
BASSENDEAN 70 (2) v OSBORNE PARK 75 (6)
 David Rhodes 18 v Kevin Pickering  16
 Simon Alden 22 v Neville Stevens  11
 Beau Manton 15 v Cody Packer  28
 Dan Nicholls 15 v Gary Caffell  20

We beat the heat with a 3pm twilight game and I must say I loved it. We would have had 40-50 people watching after the game which finished at about 7pm, but that was courtesy of 2 dead ends at the end as my rink tried to get a 7 on the last end to win the aggregate. The temperature at that time was very pleasant and I recommend clubs do more of them for future games.
On the game itself, Osborne Park were the team to jump away and this was a match played in quarters. Osborne Park strong away, Bassendean fought hard to bridge the gap and hit the front, Ossy Park rallied to again and it was about the 16th end on 3 rinks that really made the difference for an Osborne Park win. Dan Nicholls was holding before a bare kitty drive from Caffell carried the kitty to the ditch for 4 of his own. Nicholls cutting it back to 1 to Caffell. We also held a 4 before a perfectly weighted shot from Neville Stevens got shot, and likewise next door to me, David Rhodes held four before Kevin Pickering drew the shot. Those 3 ends were effectively a 15 shot turnaround, Bassendean hold them they win, Osborne Park got them and they won. Osborne Park on the back of this got their nose in front by about 10 but again Bassendean pushed and got to within 2 with 2 ends left but a four to Cody Packer meant my rink needed 6 to draw, 7 to win and despite 2 killed ends, Neville Stevens hung on and Osborne Park win.
Packer looked in devastating form as did Jack East with their big 13 shot win over Beau Manton. It was partially offset with our rink win by 11 over Neville Stevens. Stevens shot out to a 6-1 lead but ground to a halt as my rink peeled off 6 of the next 7 ends and managed to hold that good margin to the end.
The other 2 games were very close and of the highest quality. David Rhodes a with a tight 2 shot win over Kevin Pickering who kept cutting down or making shot after some brilliant Rhodes bowls, it was a great game to be playing next to. On the other side of me the Nicholls v Caffell was nip and tuck but the wily old veteran Caffell won some decisive ends at the end of the game and he was able to hang on by 5.
SOUTH PERTH 81 (7) v CAMBRIDGE 73 (1)
 Justin Opie 20 v Lance Strahan  14
 Scott Walker 21 v Pieter Harris  18
 Neale Griffin 16 v Clive Adams  23
 Glenn Pauling 24 v Slavko Perica  18

Another close game but it was the triumphant BPL Cup club South Perth with about 7 players landing at Perth airport at midday were able to drag themselves through another 21 ends of bowls but their energy levels would have lifted with their 7 points and 8 shot win. Clive Adams was on the same flight and was victorious by 7 over Neale Griffin. With Cody Packer winning at Bassendean, perhaps the ideal preparation for a game of bowls on a Saturday is a 5 hour flight!
It was Cambridges first loss for the year and with Bassendean going down we have no sides undefeated after only 4 weeks. Cambridge drop to third but still sit 5.5 points clear of 4th. No panic stations from the Knights yet. South Perth get some much needed points and their topsy turvy year of getting 8 and 7 points, but dropping 8 and 7 poins, but amazingly they sit 4th at the moment but their is a glut of teams around them, only 1.5 points separate 4th and 8th.
NORTH BEACH 68 (1) v MANNING 103 (7)
 Mark Douthie 25 v Thomas Mitchell  23
 Ron Kuziela 13 v Lee Such  24
 Joe McGinlay 13 v Anthony Williams  33
 Paul Walker 17 v Shane Knott  23

Our final game saw Manning visit North Beach and they arrived early for a roll at the away venue early and got some good practice in. Manning very complimentary to me about the quality of the surface as well. The roll up must have done them wonders as they shot out of the barrel as Shane Knott went out to a 12-0 lead and the other rinks sitting about 7-10 shots up butNorth mounted their comeback, starting with a 6 to Mark Douthie. This seemed to rally the troops and North Beach closed the gap but it was brief, and Manning have showed that they are not to be forgotten about this year. Paul Walker tried hard against Shane Knott but the initial few ends was too much to bridge and Knott won by 6. Lee Sucxh broke through for his first win of the year and he had able support from Peter Ker to win by 9 over Ron Kuziela and Anthony Williams and Nathan Jones brilliant in their 20 shot defeat of Joe McGinlay.
The bright light for North Beach was the win for Mark Douthie in a cricket score game over Tom Mitchell. As mentioned earlier Mitchell out to a good lead before a 6 to Douthie bridged the gap. It was nip and tuck all the way until the 21st end when a 5 to Douthie earned the point for North Beach. Noth teams sit in that pack of teams narrowly witting out of 4th spot.
