At the completion of the first round we see the Roosters with a 10.5 point ,margin to the second side in Safety Bay. But, as mentioned previously there is only 4 points separating second and sixth, which happen to be the Reds from Vic Park.
For those that don't know, the club that finishes on top of the ladder, gains automatic promotion to White Division, and the teams in positions 2 and 3 on the ladder will participate in the Challenge Playoffs against first white teams.
The two clubs with the lowest number of points will be relegated to 2nd Division, with the 7th and 8th placed teams destined for the Challenge Playoffs against Second Division aspirants.

On paper you would pick the boys in green from the bay, however they have been ultra inconsistent of late, to put it mildly.
But, so have the Hawks, losing at home last week to the Reds, so this is a nightmare to pick.
Quite a big shake up in selection at Safety Bay, four changes is a lot so the selectors are obviously peeved at the inconsistency of this sixteen.

The addition of Tyrone Alberti to the ranks of the Leeming Lions has certainly bolstered their ranks, so they will be hoping he is available for the majority of the second round.
At home, I predict that the Lions will win convincingly, and keep the pressure on the Roosters at the top of the ladder.
Gosnells have had a disappointing season to date, and they will be hoping for better results in the second round.
Changes at Gosnells too.

Once again, on the respective positions of these teams, you would expect the River Rats to conquer the Magic. But on the grass at home, I expect Melville to put up a good fight.
Randall in but White out for the Magic I believe. so nothing gained there, whilst one of the River Rats rinks looks a little weak to me. So, who to win?

The Mounties put up a great fight last week, and playing at home again, I expect them to do likewise. Whoever draws the Reds Michael Simms rink, will have to be at their best to give the Mounties any show at all, as this rink have only lost one game so far.

Another tricky one to pick, but the Roosters with still a few players out, we just might see the Ravens crowing on Saturday night.
Thornlie have been slowly improving of late, so I predict an upset here. Srhoy still missing in action for the Roosters is a big blow.
Thornlie. 6-2
